Basic Meaning: non-analytical cessation

Senses:

  • One of the six unconditioned factors 六無爲 in the Yogâcāra theory (Skt. apratisaṃkyā-nirodha). Extinction of the arising and existence of certain seeds not due to the power of awakened wisdom. The nonarising of defilements and so forth due to lack of cause. 〔宗鏡錄 T 2016.48.706c25〕 [Charles Muller]
