Harumi Ziegler, our editor for East Asian Indigenous Sutras, is a UCLA graduate who specializes in East Asian apocryphal texts, a topic that she pursued at both the MA and PhD levels. Her MA thesis investigated Avalokitesvarasamadhi-sutra and her dissertation title was "The sinification of Buddhism as found in an early Chinese indigenous Sutra : a study and translation of the Fo-shuo Ching-tu San-mei Ching (the Samadhi-Sutra on liberation through purification spoken by the Buddha)." She presently works in the Charles E. Young Research Library at UCLA where she is continuing her research in this area. [5/3/2003]
