Erez Joskovich


Erez Joskovich is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of East-Asian Studies at Tel-Aviv University. Erez completed his Ph.D. studies at Tel-Aviv University and the University of Tokyo. He conducted his graduate work mainly in Japan, where he was a Research Fellow (2008–2010) and a visiting scholar (2011–2012) in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Tokyo. His research interests lie in the area of Japanese Religion, ranging from contemporary to medieval Buddhism, focusing on the adaptation of tradition to the modern world. His current research examines the development of lay Zen in early twentieth-century Japan. Erez has written more than 60 entries dealing with Chan and Zen. [2014.3.13]
