Charles Jones is a specialist in Taiwanese and Pure Land Buddhism who teaches at the Catholic University of America. He has published Buddhism in Taiwan: Religion and the State, 1660-1990 (University of Hawai`i Press, 1999). He has contributed information on Pure Land texts to the DDB. [12/16/2002]
