Imre Hamar


Imre Hamar is a professor of Chinese studies at Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest), and a specialist in Huayan Buddhism. He has published several articles on the doctrinal problems of this school, as well as a mongraph entitled A Religious Leader in the Tang: Chengguan's Biography. He has also edited the volume Reflecting Mirrors: Perspectives on Huayan Buddhism, a collection of papers delivered at the first Huayan conference in Budapest in 2004. He has been working on a monograph on the Chinese commentaries to the Avataṃsaka-sūtra. He has contributed terms from the Huayan tradition to the DDB. [2009/2/6]
