Stefan Grace earned a PhD in 2014 from Komazawa University, where he focused on D.T. Suzuki's treatment of Chinese Chan texts in his later-period Japanese-language works. Stefan also studied at Kyoto Sangyo University and The University of Tokyo. He is actively involved in several ongoing projects related to Suzuki, for example contributing translation and editorial work to Fumihiko Sueki's publication of Suzuki's posthumous works in The Annual Report of Researches of The Matsugaoka Bunko (2011, No. 25). Stefan has been adding terms from classical Chan texts.
